Marvel executive admits that emphasis on diversity has alienated readers

Marvel’s vice president of sales has blamed declining comic-book sales on the studio’s efforts to increase diversity and female characters, saying that readers “were turning their noses up” at diversity and “didn’t want female characters out there”. Over recent years, Marvel has made efforts to include more diverse and more female characters, introducing new iterations of fan favorites including a female Thor; Riri Williams, a black teenager who took over the Iron Man storyline as Ironheart; Miles Morales, a biracial Spider-Man and Kamala Khan, a Muslim teenage girl who is the current Ms Marvel. But speaking at the Marvel retailer summit about the studio’s falling comic sales, David Gabriel said retailers had told him that fans were sticking to old favorites. “What we heard was that people didn’t want any more diversity,” he said. “They didn’t want female characters out there. That’s what we heard, whether we believe that or not.” He added: “I don’t know that that’s really true, but that’s what we saw in sales … Any character that was diverse, any character that was new, our female characters, anything that was not a core Marvel character, people were turning their nose up.”

This is not just about having more females. That is all BS.It is about taking white characters and making them black brown and anything in between. It is about erasing white identity and having white heroes for white children to look up to and be proud of.If they wanted all this diversity then they should have just made new characters of whatever flavor of diversity of the month they wanted. Not purposefully replace and erase white identity. You don't take Iron Man and make him into a Black Iron Woman.Just make a completely new character.Look what they are doing in the Marvel movies.Taking white characters and replacing them with black actors. This is BS.How about we take Black Panther and give the role to Tom Hardy. The biggest embarrassment is they took Valkrie from Thor and made her Black. What kind of degenerate BS is that. Purposefully erasing white Nordic culture. It was bad enough they made Heimdall Black. But Valkrie. Not acceptable at all.

We don't want diversity. They know it. But will they actually stop... well NO. Because diversity means chasing DOWN the last White person. Don't buy into their garbage: financially, morally, spiritually.

It's normal for the comic book readers to prefer seeing characters that look more like someone they could aspire to become, rather than the other. The less they relate to the heroes, the less likely they are to buy. There has also got to be some push-back involved as well. Not only have the White customers spoken, so has the non-white audience.
